SIGIR-AP 2023 is committed to fostering international collaboration and ensuring accessibility for participants from around the world. To this end, we have streamlined the registration process to accommodate both international and domestic attendees, offering the convenience of paying in two widely accepted currencies: USD (United States Dollar) for international registration and RMB (Chinese Renminbi) for domestic registration.
For our international participants, registering for SIGIR-AP 2023 is a straightforward process. Using the ACM Registration Vendor, we accept registration payments in USD. This approach ensures ease of registration for delegates from various countries and minimizes currency exchange complications. People who need Chinese VISA to attend the conference must pay through the international registration portal in order to receive VISA support from ACM.
At the same time, we recognize the importance of accommodating our domestic attendees from within China. To ensure accessibility for our local participants, we are pleased to offer the option of registering in RMB. People who cannot pay in USD or need invoices in Chinese must pay through the domestic registration portal.
SIGIR-AP 2023 is committed to ensuring accessibility for everyone, including those who may not be able to attend the conference in person. Recognizing the importance of virtual participation in today's global landscape, we are pleased to offer virtual registration as well. People who only attend the conference virtually can receive a discount for the registration (described in details below). Also, as a part of SIGIR-AP's effort to be carbon neutral, we encourage attendees to purchase optional carbon credits for their attendance of the conference.
Each person attending the conference must pay a registration fee. To offset the full fee, a range of discounts are being offered, including for students, for ACM members, and for online-only attendees. The presenter of each accepted paper must be registered for conference as described in the previous sentence, and is expected to pay an additional fee associated with each paper that they are presenting. One conference attendee may be the presenter of multiple papers if they wish, provided that they are an author of each presented work, and provided that they pay the additional fee associated with each paper. For example, an author who (1) wants to attend the full conference in person, (2) registers before the early-bird deadline, (3) is a student, (4) is an ACM member, and (5) pays the publication fee for her or his paper, needs to pay ￥6500 (full passport) - ￥1000 (early-bird) - ￥1500 (student) - ￥500 (ACM member) + ￥1500 (publication) = ￥5000 or $900 (full passport) - $140 (early-bird) - $210 (student) - $70 (ACM member) + $210 (publication) = $690
SIGIR-AP 2023 provides two types of registration, as listed below:
Full Passport
- Full access to all conference events and services, including the tutorials.
Two-day Passport
- Access to the two-day main conferences, including the reception, and other related events/services.
SIGIR-AP 2023 provides registration discounts depending on your status and registration date, as listed below:
Early Bird
- People who register before the early-bird deadline (10/15/2023) will receive this discount.
Online Attendance Only
- Discounts applied if you only want to attend the conference virtually or through the satelite venue.
- If you have purchased the full passport, then the discount value is RMB ￥1500 or USD $210.
- If you have purchased the two-day passport, then the discount value is RMB ￥1000 or USD $140.
Student
- Students who register the conference will receive this discount
- To get this discount, people are required to use their student ACM membership email to register, or provide proof of their student status (e.g., a valid student ID card)
- If you have purchased the full passport, then the discount value is RMB ￥1500 or USD $210.
- If you have purchased the two-day passport, then the discount value is RMB ￥1000 or USD $140.
ACM Member
- Valid ACM members who register the conference will receive this discount
- To get this discount, people are required to use their ACM membership email to register, or provide their ACM membership number when register.
- If you have purchased the full passport, then the discount value is RMB ￥500 or USD $70.
- If you have purchased the two-day passport, then the discount value is RMB ￥3500 or USD $50.
Several types of extra fee may apply to your registration depending your status and registration date, as listed below:
Publication
- Each paper published in SIGIR-AP 2023 requires an extra publication fee of RMB ￥1500 or USD $210.
- Authors or presenters can include this publication fee when they pay their registration (must provide the submission ID and title of the paper in the registration process).
- Each person can only pay the publication fee of one paper.
Late Registration
- This fee is applied to people who register after the regular registration period.
Carbon Purchase
- As a part of SIGIR-AP's effort to be carbon neutral, attendees are encouraged to purchase carbon credits for their attendance of the conference.
