The annual SIGIR-AP conference is an annual ACM-sponsored international forum that promotes and disseminates information retrieval research and development within the Asia-Pacific region defined as all of Asia, Australasia, and the islands of the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
The first ACM SIGIR-AP conference was held in Beijing in November 2023, followed by Tokyo in December 2024.
The third edition will take place in Xi'an on 7-10 December 2025, continuing the mission of upholding the high standards of the global SIGIR series and fostering a vibrant, accessible research community.
Over the past two editions, SIGIR-AP has attracted top students, faculty, and researchers from institutions worldwide, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shandong University, and Beijing Institute of Technology in China; Waseda University, University of Tsukuba, University of Hyogo, and Kyushu University in Japan; Seoul National University in Korea; as well as institutions from outside the region, such as the University of Amsterdam, University of Melbourne, University of Waterloo, and University of Queensland.
